Privacy Policy - Gofer UI
Gofer UI is a browser extension that enhances gameplay on hordes.io. It adds overlays and tools such as a buff/debuff tracker, a whisper (chat) panel, party and loadout helpers, and a 3D model viewer. This page explains what the extension can access, what it stores.
Where the extension runs
Gofer UI only activates on https://hordes.io/play. It does not run on, read, or interact with any
other website or browser tab.
Permissions it requests, in plain English
- Scripting: lets the extension inject its interface and a small script into the hordes.io game page so it can read the game's own network traffic and draw overlays on top of it.
Gofer UI does not request access to your cookies, browsing history, bookmarks, location, or any other site.
What the extension observes
While you play, the extension reads the game's own network traffic (the same data your browser already receives from hordes.io while you play) in order to power its overlays:
- Your character's name, faction, class, and clan.
- The name, faction, class, and clan of other nearby players and party members, needed to label them correctly in the interface.
- Whisper/chat messages you send or receive in-game.
- Buff and debuff (ability) events, used to power the tracker overlays.
What you enter directly
Some features ask you to type information directly, such as your character name, chat messages you choose to send, custom tracker configurations, and interface layout preferences. This information is used only to run the corresponding feature and is stored locally as described below.
Where your data is stored
All of the information above is stored only in your own browser, using standard browser storage (IndexedDB and local storage). There is no account system, no server-side database, and no cloud sync, the developer cannot see, access, or receive this data.
Network requests the extension makes
Gofer UI makes network requests only to hordes.io itself:
- Same-origin calls to hordes.io's own API for things like player/clan name search and checking your account's in-game permissions, handled entirely by hordes.io's servers, not the extension developer's.
- Loading game icon and texture assets, either from files bundled with the extension or, as a fallback, from hordes.io's own asset servers.
Gofer UI includes no analytics, advertising, or crash-reporting services of any kind.
Exporting your data
The extension includes an optional "backup/export" tool that lets you copy your own locally stored data (such as chat history) out as a file or text, entirely under your control. Because this export can include the names or handles of other players you've interacted with, please be mindful about who you share an exported file with.
Data sharing
Gofer UI does not sell, share, or transmit your data to its developer or to any third party.
Children's privacy
Gofer UI is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect information from children. It only processes ordinary gameplay information as described above.
